Speaking on Tuesday during the commissioning ceremony, Mimiko said the project was in furtherance of his administration’s resolve to better the lot of the electorate and provide them the dividends of democracy.

He said the project has brought to an end, the age-long suffering of the people of the area who lived in total darkness. The governor who congratulated the people of Epe for their unflinching support for the present government, assured that the road linking the town (Epe) with Ondo will receive government’s attention.

He told the community that officials from the state Ministry of Education, to be led by the commissioner will soon visit the town to assess their needs in the area of education with a view to improve the education of their children.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Interim Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the local government, Mr Siji Akindolie, commended the administration for actualising the age-long dream of the people, stressing that they will forever remember him for this historical achievement assuring that the completion of the project, which began 16 years ago, will transform the socio-economic landscape of the area.

He, however, solicited the state government’s assistance to facilitate the establishment of a commercial bank for Bolorunduro, the headquarters of the loc al government in order to promote business.
