It will be recalled that Mimiko, claimed he was displeased by the meager monthly stipend paid to the traditional rulers and announced during the inauguration of the Olowo of Owo, Oba (Dr) Victor Folagbade Olateru – Olagbegi as the Chairman of the State Council of Obas that the government would augment their stipends with additional N500,000. The governor, while having an interactive session with the Obas at the government house grounds had said the payment of cheques would be available for collection immediately.

His words, “I want to assure you that your government in Ondo State is on course. We shall do everything possible to improve your welfare as our royal fathers. We’ll never disappoint you and the people of our dear state.”
