An NGO, Made in Nigeria Entrepreneur Community (MiNEC), has offered entrepreneurship skills to students of Government Junior Secondary School (GJSS), Lokogoma, Abuja.

Under its “Catch Them Young Project”, MiNEC said the exercise was aimed at exposing them to made in Nigeria products and the need for the acceptance of such products.

The founder of MINEC, Miss Taiwo Sotunde, said the students were taught the art of shoe and bag making, catering, tailoring, vaccination, among others.

She said the foundation which was established three years ago was primarily aimed at enlightening Nigerians about made in Nigeria products and the need for them to accept the usage of the products.

Miss Sotunde further said MiNEC decided to select a junior school for the training in order to catch the attention of the young students, assuring that more schools would benefit from such gesture.

The Coordinator of Catch Them Young Project, Chizoba Ag-Chukwukaorah, said the students were drilled for five days and that their responses during the training showed appreciable level of impact on them.

The Principal of the school, Mallam Mahmud Arabi Salihu, commended the group for the gesture, saying the NGO had proven itself a standout from others.

He said the students would continue to appreciate the gesture anytime they made use of the skills they had acquired.

A student, Blessing Okoria, said the catering she learnt had started manifesting in her home as she now helped her mother with modern catering techniques.
