The House of Representatives member from Wase Constituency, Representative Ahmed Idris, who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Jos, said the minister was on his way to Wase Local Government Area of the state to commission an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Training Centre in the local government, but had in line with protocol, gone to inform the governor of his visit when the state governor told him he shouldn’t go to Wase as there is a serious security problem there.

The governor was said to have maintained that if the minister intends to proceed to Wase for the commissioning, he cannot guarantee his security. Weekly Trust gathered that immediately he was told that, Zaku suspended his scheduled trip to Wase and returned to Abuja early yesterday.

The Plateau State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mrs. Rifkatu Durfa, who would have been the host commissioner during the commissioning, when contacted, said the Plateau State government was not adequately informed about the visit.
