The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has charged its staff  in Kano to embrace the new policy on ethics and integrity by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to engender economic development for the country.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo, made the call during a one-day sensitisation programme in conjunction with the ICPC for the staff of the ministry in the Kano office.

Represented by Engr Muhammad Kwari, a deputy director in the ministry, Gwarzo noted that every aspect of development was hinged on ethics and integrity and as such it had become imperative for civil servants and other citizens to be on board the new policy, noting that it was on that basis the ministry was encouraging the staff to eschew corruption in the discharge of their duties.

On his part, the Chairman of ICPC, Prof Bolaji Owasanoye reminded the management and staff of the ministry that they had a key role to play to achieve a sanitized system and processes in the workplace.

He also urged them to join hands with the government in entrenching transparency and accountability in the public service.
