The Federal Ministry of Water Resources yesterday tasked stakeholders from states in the Lake Chad basin on how to effectively utilise the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) water charter.
In a message to a sensitization workshop on LCBC water charter in Kano, the Director, Water Resources Planning and Technical Support Services of the ministry, Mrs. Ekaro Comfort, who was represented by the Deputy Director in the ministry, Mrs. Alice Ojowu, said the water charter is a binding document that covers the entire Lake Chad Basin and sets out the rights, obligations, duties, restrictions, processes and procedures pertaining to proper management of the lake.
