An Igbosere, Lagos, magistrate court has fixed September 17, 2019 for the trial of a 31-year-old man who allegedly stole N5.3 million jewelleries belonging to his employers.

The police said that the defendant, Lawal Usman, committed the offence on May 31, 2019 at about 4pm at the Igbo Efon area of the Lekki/Epe expressway.

The police alleged that Usman stole three gold hand chains, seven gold chains, one gold ring, four pendants and two earrings, all valued at N5.3m, property of Fassasi Sodiq Adekunle and Abdullahi Salisu.

The accused person was said to have been given the jewelleries by his employers at Idi-Araba, Lagos, to deliver to someone at Lekki but returned to tell them that while he was taking the jewelleries for delivery, some people accosted him and forcefully collected the items from him.
