Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana welcomed their first child, a son, on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The singer was reported to have had  a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.

In the 2012 Janet , the younger sibling to late Pop star, Michael Jackson married Qatari businessman Al Mana .

A couple of months back Janet during a tour had  announced that

 “I thought it was important that you be the first to know.”

“My husband and I are planning our family,” she continued. “So I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

Prior to her delivery reports has it that Janet who is now 50 years -old was ‘Super Excited’ about her first child.

The news of her delivery has since created a buzz on the social sphere, with congratulations and  some questioning the possibility of having a child her age.

Glenn S wrote "She is a little old to have a child. could someone please explain?"

In reaction to Glen,  Kalimba wrote "Women have been giving birth well past their 30’s for some time now, it’s only the media that’s bringing this to light as if it’s a new phenomena. Calm down people, we can still have children later in life and it won’t harm us or them."

Another reader Micki  posted "They are married, happy, wealthy and are able to take care of their child so good for them and much happiness."

While Blubber doubting the statement from Janet manager said "No woman over the age of 50 has a " Stress free healthy delivery" with her FIRST child. Someone else was giving birth to the child."
