Mixed reactions trail Jonathan’s approval of Confab report

Premium times report that this was made known to journalists by the outgoing supervising Minister of Information, Edem Duke alongside the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim Pius.
Mr. Anyim said the Council also approved the delegates’ modalities for implementing their resolutions or recommendations. President Goodluck Jonathan had in September 2014, shortly after the end of the National Conference, approved the composition of a Presidential Committee to study and draw up the implementation strategy.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Bello Adoke, chaired the committee while Mr. Anyim acted as the Secretary.
A lot of people have seen this as a political move or re-election strategy by the president who is seeking a second term in office. This can be seen in their comments on social media:
Nubianlady: President Goodluck Jonathan had in September 2014, shortly after the end of the National Conference, approved the composition of a Presidential Committee to study and draw up the implementation strategy. The President approved the recommendations six months ago and asked the committee to draw up the strategy! All these did not just happen in a week! For the first time in this country, a committee report will be enacted and implemented!
Uzoma John: All these are gimmicks of politics. The president has no intention of implementing any report. There are a thousand and one reports gathering dust in the archives. He wants to reduce darkness tariff, implement car loan scheme, secure a loan for 2nd Niger bridge, compensates relations of Immigration job calamity (without refunding over =N=1billion collected from job seekers). He wants to do everything a week to election.
Segun: I think the President should form another committee to examine the approval of the Nigerian Cabinet. After that he should form another committee to examine the recommendation of this committee.
kimba Ajayi Ifayemi: I thank God for APC that has put godly fear in the hearts of our leaders. Now they know they cannot take us for granted anymore. We have alternatives. However, this Confab report sef. Has anyone really cared to take a look at it? Absolutely nothing to write home about except creation of states here and there which is of course another avenue for thief-leaders to amass more wealth at the expense of the people.
