The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Adamawa State has confirmed the murder of one of its officials.

Sa’idu Saleh Kolaku, the zonal chairman of the association in the southern part of the state, was said to have been killed by gunmen at his residence in Mayobelwa town on Friday.

The state chairman of the association, Usman Jaoji, told Daily Trust yesterday that some unidentified persons visited Kolaku’s house at around 9 pm on Friday, sought a private audience with him and opened fire on him as soon as he showed up to receive them.

Jaoji, who described the deceased as a man of peace, said he received the news with shock, adding that the association had already informed security agencies about the incident for necessary action

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state command neither answered phone calls nor replied a text message from our correspondent.

But a source at the state police command said personnel from the anti-kidnapping unit had been deployed to the area to track the perpetrators.
