Miyetti Allah loses two herders, 232 cattle in Jos south

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Plateau State has said it has lost two of its herders and 232 cattle to rustlers in Rengyel village of Jos south local government area of Plateau State.

The State MACBAN chairman Alhaji Haruna Boro Hussaini told newsmen that the corpse of one of the herders, Saleh Mohammed, 20 has been recovered by officers of the Special Task Force (STF), sector 6 on Sunday while the second victim, Aminu Inusa, 25 was still missing and presumed dead.

Hussaini explained that out of the 232 cattle lost, 50 were shot dead while 182 were rustled into Vom in Jos south LGA.

He said the cattle belonged to Alhaji Ahmed Muazu, Malam Ruwa Isa and Malam Dauda Umar who are members of the association.

The Media and Information Officer of the STF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha when contacted said he would contact sector 6 and get back to this reporter but at the time of filing this report, he was not responding to several phone calls put across to him.
