The Ministerial Joint Task Force (MJTF) has arrested a man for installing, blaring siren and flash lights on his personal Peugeot car in Abuja.

The suspect, Bala Haliru, was arrested by a combined team of the army, police, DSS, NSCDC, FRSC and Abuja Environmental Protection Agency (AEPB) officials on patrol when he was trying to get unhindered access on the road with the use of the siren and flash lights mounted on his personal car.

MJTF official, Mr. Peter Olumuji, told Daily Trust that, “Bala Haliru told them that he blared the siren to enable him get passage to meet his wife at Asokoro General Hospital.

“He then received a call and said it was to inform him that she had died and that we should allow him to go and attend to her, but when we investigated his claims, we found them to be false.

“When we took his car to our yard in Wuye, and interrogated him, he said he was an official of the Department of State Security (DSS),” Olumuji said.

He said the man is suspected of using the car for criminal activities within the city.
