An angry mob, at the weekend, swooped on a forklift operator in the Ojo area of Lagos after a drum of armoured cable he was said to be transloading from a container fell on a passerby, killing the victim on the spot.
The forklift operator was almost lynched by the angry mob, if not for the prompt arrival of some policemen from Ilemba Hausa Police Station.
The policemen came following a distress call that was received at the station about the incident.
It was learnt that the mob almost set the entire warehouse on fire, after efforts to get the forklift operator handed over to them was rebuffed by the owner of the cable.
