The Katsina police command has launched an investigation into the killing of three suspected armed robbers by a mob at Daga village in Jibia Local Government Area of the state. The robbers were alleged to have earlier attacked and robbed at the residence of one Abdulmumini Daga and three others. 

It was gathered that no sooner had the news of the robbery went round that angry residents mobilised and confronted the robbers and allegedly killed them.

Speaking on the incidence, the command’s spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, said the robbers stormed the town at about 2.30am on Sept. 30 armed with guns and ammunition and carried out their nefarious activities. 

He said the mob had already killed the suspects before the police got to the scene of the crime noting that the police recovered the AK 47 and six live ammunition purportedly belonging to the robbers. “Their corpses were later taken to the Federal Medical Centre Katsina where they were certified dead by a medical personnel,” he said.
