An irate mob killed one Prophet Uhembe Jacob, whom they accused of playing a role in the disappearance of some male genitals in Daudu village, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Daily Trust reports that the prophet’s Divine Shadow Church was set ablaze last week by the angry mob who fingered him as an accomplice in the missing genitals saga which has rocked the hitherto peaceful community since September this year.

But the Benue State Command had faulted the allegations, noting that the victims who complained of missing genitals were taken to a hospital and were certified medically fit by doctors.
Some of those alleged victims, however, insisted that they were not fit as they still could not perform sexually.
Our correspondent gathered yesterday that the prophet who escaped mob action last week was eventually murdered after his house, church and all other properties were burnt to ashes.
It was learnt that the cleric was accosted by the mob and killed along Lafia road while running to an unnamed village in Nasarawa State.
The killing of the prophet triggered protest by his church members on Sunday, as they demanded justice for the murdered cleric.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed that the prophet was killed while attempting to run away in his car from Daudu.
Anene, who could not say precisely when the man was killed, said the prophet was to be picked up (protective cover) by the DPO in Daudu, but that he rushed into his vehicle and ran away.
The PPRO, who noted that the man was later killed, explained that police were able to rescue the second person accused alongside the prophet and put him under protective custody.
