A mob has reportedly lynched a suspected motorcycle snatcher, Halidu Bala, in the Dabi-Bako community of the Kwali Area Council in the FCT.
A resident of Dabi-Bako village, Abdullahi Musa, said the incident occurred on Saturday around 4 pm near a forest at Bako village.
The suspect allegedly stole a motorcycle from a mosque in Dabi while the owner was inside praying.
He said some residents saw the suspect escaping with the motorcycle and raised the alarm, adding that okada riders gave him a chase and caught him near Bako forest.
According to Musa, the suspect then pulled out a knife and attempted to stab some of the riders to escape.
He was, however, overpowered by the mob, which struck him on the head with hard objects until he collapsed.
He said the mob then lynched the suspect and dispersed before vigilantes could arrive at the scene.
A vigilante, Gambo Ayuba, confirmed the incident but the police in the area said the incident was not officially reported.
