A statement signed by the NMC’s Public Relations Officer, Onyekachi Njoku, said the training was aimed at updating the teachers’ knowledge on the new curriculum in the Senior Secondary School Syllabus and improving their skills and competence in teaching.
According to the statement, Mobil’s General Manager Public and Government Affairs, Mr Enyinnaya Onokala, said at a workshop in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State that the partnership was to re-establish a generation of teachers and equip them for the future generation.
Represented by the Manager, Public and Government Affairs, Mr Akaninyene Esiere, he said Mobil is committed to the programme.
On his part, Director General of National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Professor, Adewale Solarin, represented by the Resident Consultant, Mathematics Improvement Project, Professor, Lawal Adetula, urged the teachers to put into practice what they learnt during the workshop.
