Developed by the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) in partnership with Tingo Mobile Limited, the mobile applications according to the developers will improve the lives of Nigerian women and youth and reduce violence against them.
Director-General of NCWD, Lady Onyeka Onwenu said the applications were developed leveraging on the popularity of mobile phones with women , and all they need do is to download the applications  with their phones or with Tingo phones.
She said some of the women who need the technology are in the grassroots and they intend going round the country to enlighten them about the use and benefits of the applications.
She said the applications would help to address our security challenges and violence against women as any woman threatened or in danger of violence can dial the number of  the nearest police station and be located wherever she is.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tingo Mobile Limited , a private indigenous mobile telecommunications company, Dozy Mmobuosi  said the applications will be launched in the country in June and in other parts of West Africa in six months time.
He said if the missing girls abducted from a secondary school in Borno state had access to the applications they would have been traced by now.
Mmobuosi said one of the application to be launched  called Market Box will empower women and youth thus creating five million jobs. He said it is  in such a way that a woman selling yams in Benue State can interface with buyers in Onitsha and also make payments for instance through First Bank Mobile Wallet.
Also explaining Tingo mobile black hawk security application, Software developer, Mr Ayodele Ayelomi  said the application will help locate kidnappers and also help ascertain the current position of a mobile phone, stationary or moving.
Managing Director of Tingo Mobile Limited United Kingdom, Jameel Jamal said the organization also plans to introduce another application on multi level software which works on the basis of daily contributions done by women.
