Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted two wives and a son of the chief of Sarkin Kudu in Taraba State.
Daily Trust on Sunday learnt that the incident happened midnight Friday when gunmen suspected to be kidnappers forced their way into the palace of the chief of Sarkin Kudu in Ibbi Local Government Area and abducted his family members.
It was revealed that at the time of the incident, the monarch – Dansalama Adamu, a third-class chief, was said to have travelled out of his chiefdom.
At the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the monarch’s wives and son were not known and there was no contact between the kidnappers and the monarch.
Police spokesman DSP Usman Abdullahi confirmed the incident and said some suspects were arrested by the police in connection with the abduction of family members of the monarch.
Abdullahi stated that efforts to rescue the abducted family members of the monarch have begun and the suspects arrested have provided useful information which could lead to the rescue of the victims.
