The victims were said to be heading from Osi to Obo Ayegunle in Kwara State when the gunmen struck.

A source identified others abducted as the monarch’s driver, Kunle; his security aide, Lawrence Abiodun; and a palace maid, Bukunmi Akanbi.
The monarch’s Siena vehicle registered as “Owalobo of Obbo Ayegunle” that was conveying the victims was abandoned on the road.
It is unclear whether the abductors have contacted the monarch or any member of the family for ransom.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the command would collaborate with other security agencies and vigilantes to rescue the victims.
