Nominated for her breakthrough role in the HBO movie “Grey Gardens,” Drew hit the red carpet in Monique’s show-stopping gown and carried a clutch named “Drew” which was especially made for her by Raven Kauffman Couture after Kauffman saw her on “Grey Gardens” and was inspired to make a bag for Drew.

Drew sashayed on the red carpet like a fairytale princess practically redeeming herself from her last faux pas fashion number when she dyed her hair blonde with black tips to match a spider-like freaky dress made for her by Alexander McQueen for the Toronto premiere of her latest movie, “Whip It” with Ellen Page (“Juno”).

TV host, producer and actress Oprah said “That’s the same thing Tyler (Perry, her co-executive producer in the movie ‘Precious’) and I have done with this film. I’m just here to try to use my voice to bring in as many people, put them in the seats.” As for Oprah’s film “Precious,” the Lee Daniels-directed movie already won the top audience award at the TIFF

This win will definitely strengthen the Oscar chances for newcomer Gabourey Sidibe in the film’s title role and actor/comedian Mo’Nique, who plays her tyrannical mother. Both delivered award-winning performances.
