The Nigerian side was forced to make early substitution when assistant captain Kingsley Udoh sustained a serious injury in the 2nd minute of the match. He was substituted in the 7th minute by Ibok Edet.

The lone goal of the match was scored in the 26 minute when Morocco’s Abdulaziz Barada beat Dele Ajiboye from the penalty spot.

As expected, the Eguavoen led side fought back to level scores in the first half but the host maintained amazing discipline in the defence to go back to the dressing room with the advantage.

In the second half, Babatunde Michael and Olarewanju Kayode came on for Osas Okoro and Stephen Worgu respectively.

Their presence was felt immediately as they piled up pressure on the Moroccans defence but nothing came out of all their efforts.

If not for the brilliant save from Ajiboye in the 73rd minute, Morocco would have doubled their lead.

Dream Team’s next match is a must win game against Senegal on Tuesday, November 29. They will round up the group matches with the match against Algeria on December 2.
