A 50-year-old woman, Angela Ugochukwu and her 20-year-old daughter, Priscilla, were on Thursday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly beating up their neighbour.
The police charged the defendants, both who lived at Ungwan Maigero, Karji Kaduna, with assault and causing grievous hurt.
The prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, informed the court that Jummai Richard, of the same address with the defendants reported the matter on March 11.
According to Leo, a fight broke out between Angela and the complainant, after the latter accused her of always insulting her children rather than cautioning them.

The prosecutor said that Priscilla joined her mother in beating up the complainant when she saw them fighting.
“My Lord, the defendants used a wood to beat up the complainant and they also injure her all over her body,” he said.
He said that the offence contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with one surety in like sum and adjourned till April 30. (NAN)
