A woman was killed while her daughter sustained injury in a suspected homicide case in Dutse, capital of Jigawa state.
According to spokesman of the Jigawa Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the deceased identified as Esther Adekanla resided opposite Awajil Filling Station, Dutse, popularly known as HADIZA NAKOWA DUTSE.
She was last seen on 12/02/2024 which made her neighbors become suspicious and made several efforts to reach her phone lines.
He said on receipt of the report, detectives from the Dutse Division of the police swung into action and proceeded to her house, where on arrival, it was discovered that it was locked,.
He said the door was forced open and her lifeless body was found in the sitting room.
He said the team also observed visible cuts on her head and neck while the body had started decomposing.
Adam said her daughter, one Christiana Michael, aged 11yreas was found locked in a store with cuts on her head too, though alive but unconscious.
Lawan added that both the corpse and the victim were rushed to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital.
According to him, she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor while the corpse was conveyed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for autopsy.
