Mothers and lack of morals in daughters

Presumably, every child is entitled to be trained and be impacted with good moral training so that the child will grow up to perform the particular character inculcated in her.
However, a girl who is well trained will definitely impact moral attitude and character on her own child too and that is why it is paramount for mothers especially to be role models to their children as well as displaying good moral qualities in their presence but unfortunately, the reverse is the case to some parents.
Moreover, it is quiet pathetic for what ladies have turned dressing to and with critical observation of how most ladies dress today, especially those in higher institutions who tend to reveal sensitive parts of their body thereby denigrating womanhood and corrupting the society.
Consequently, the issue of rape is getting to an alarming rate because it has permeated the entire society in Nigeria. Accessing the incessant cases of rape, one can convincingly conclude that those who are fond exhibiting provocative dressing styles may become  victims of rape which has become an awkward trend in the society.
The Director Hope Orphanage, Idofian, Kwara State. Doctor Mrs. Christiana Omoleyin who spoke as a mother described the rate in which ladies are seen with lack of home training as worrisome and disturbing.
“Moral values have gone down, no home training at all, and I blame mothers for not paying adequate attention to girl- child upbringing as they spend more time with children than the fathers.
“A young girl  in tertiary institution for instance can do whatever she likes, dresses anyhow and so on. A child of today who is not well trained should not be expected to display any exemplary moral standard but rather, her negative moral behaviour will end up being impacted on her own child.
“It is on this note, I am appealing to mothers to re-think and consider the future of their children by teaching them how to live a better life,” she said.
Parents should monitor their children by ensuring that they possess moral habit and do not keep bad friends. Child upbringing is very important hence, parents should rise up to the challenges, they need to be  more committed and dedicated in ensuring that necessary and adequate training is given to the children so as to have a better tomorrow.
