Motion on Akure market inferno timely

For sponsoring a motion calling on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to assist victims of the fire disaster that consumed more than 200 shops in Akure, two weeks ago we shower praises on the lawmaker representing Akure South/North Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Afe Olowokere.

It would be recalled that an early morning fire which engulfed over 200 lock-up shops located at the popular Oba Adesida road in Akure, destroyed property worth millions of naira, few weeks ago.

We strongly believes Olowokere’s motion on the floor of the House, drawing the attention of the House of Representatives to the fire disaster in his constituency will bring the needed succor to traders who lost valuables in the inferno.

Hon. Olowokere deserves commendation for this landmark motion, it further confirms his love and desire to make life better for the people of Akure South/North Federal constituency.

We are not surprised by this latest move by the lawmaker, in the last three years he has demonstrated strong commitment and political will to always bring smile to the faces of his people and also deliver dividends of democracy to them.

From his investment in education,  and agriculture value chain, to various empowerment programmes aimed at reducing poverty, and continuous financial support for youths and market women to boost their business, all aimed at producing lasting and sustainable impacts in his constituency, Olowokere has proven beyond all doubts that the interest and we’ll being of the people is paramount to him.

We therefore pass a vote of confidence on Olowokere and called on him to declare his intent to seek a re-election in the 2019 elections, and the group is ready to mobilise all its members across all the wards in the constituency to begin a door to door campaign for the lawmaker.
