The protest which is billed for next month will be taken to the office of  Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, the Commissioner of Police in the state and all police area commands in the state.
Acting General-Secretary of the union Comrade Daramola Rotimi Willliams told our correspondent in a chat that the protest became necessary because of the frequency of extortion his members experience in recent times.
He wondered why the police and local government officials in the state go after his members who do not breach the ban placed on designated routes in the state.
According to him, most of his members in the state have been sent out of the business as a result of ongoing extortion by public officials, adding that the development has reduced the membership strength of the union.
Daramola also expressed concern over the ban in other parts of the country, stressing that it has further compounded the unemployment situation in Nigeria.
He charged the state governments to consider alternative means to absorb those whose jobs are affected by the ban.
