A motorist crushed a motorcyclist to death in a fatal accident which occurred at the Abaji General Hospital Junction, on Abuja-Lokoja road.

A witness said the incident happened around 6:15 pm on Saturday, when a Honda SUV with registration number KWL 263 ND coming from Gwagwalada axis ran over the motorcyclist who was trying to cross the road.

He said the motorcyclist died on the spot after the SUV ran over him, adding that the rescue team of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived the scene and evacuated the corpse of the motorcyclist, which was handed over to the family for burial.

When contacted, the Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Abubakar Shehu Dogondaji, confirmed the incident, which he attributed to speed limit violation and loss of control.

He said the corpse of the deceased had been handed over to the relatives for burial.
