Residents of Mpape community in Abuja, Tuesday, protested the suspension of the traditional head of the area, Alhaji Abubakar Gimba.
Aso Chronicle gathered that a written letter bearing the signature of the Bwari area council chairman, Dr. John Gabaya, went viral on social media, since last Friday, purporting the suspension of the chief and installing one, Alhaji Musa Audu, as the acting chief.
The residents, led by tribal groups and their followers numbering about 500, stormed the official residence of the chairman in Bwari town to lodge their complaint against the said decision.
Responding, Gabaya who confirmed that the letter was actually from him, urged the protesters to remain peaceful pending when he would discuss the issue privately with their selected leaders, within one week.
The group later moved to the palaces of the Sarki of Bwari Alhaji Muhammad Auwal Ijakoro, and also that of Esu Bwari, JP Ibrahim Yaro, where they paid their homage to the chiefs, before leaving back to Mpape amid their entourage.
