Nigerian artist, Oluwatosin Ajibade, widely known as Mr Eazi,  is preparing to release his latest album alongside a global display of African art he commissioned personally.

One of 13 artists from eight African countries transformed the album’s tracks into works of art.

These artists include Cotonou-based artist Dominique Zinkpe, Lagos-based artist Edozie Anedu, Texas-based Cameroonian artist, and Sesse Elangwe, one of two artists to create a piece based on the album’s first tune, “Chop Time, No Friend.”

Mr Eazi claims that the inspiration for the exhibition, which will visit Lagos, Accra, London, and New York, came to him when he was experiencing a lack of inspiration in his work.

He was quoted by The Art Newspaper saying, “I was tired of making music.”

He continued by saying that the exhibition will mark the beginning of his venture into the African art world, where he has accumulated over fifty works of art.

The upcoming exhibition, which is also planned to serve as a listening party, is set for later this year.
