Mr President, we appreciate your visit to Jos to sympathise with the victims of the Palm Sunday attack in Anguwan Rukuba. 

Your concern sends a strong message of compassion and leadership in a difficult moment. However, there is something important that deserves your direct attention.

Anguwan Rukuba is one of the most underdeveloped communities in Jos, alongside many surrounding areas. 

I sincerely wish your visit had extended beyond the airport to the actual scene of the attack. If you had travelled through these communities, you would have seen the reality firsthand.

The roads are poor and, in many places, almost impassable. Water vendors line the streets because there is little to no access to clean, running water. 

At night, darkness takes over, there are no street lights. In simple terms, the presence of government is nearly absent.

This is why many people feel disappointed that the visit was limited to the airport. It made the purpose of the visit incomplete.

Mr. President, before deploying 5,000 AI cameras, Jos communities urgently need basic infrastructure, good roads, clean water, and street lighting. 

These are the real foundations of security. When communities are lit, accessible, and supported, insecurity is reduced naturally.

We believe that lasting peace and safety begin with visible governance in the daily lives of the people.
