I had expected that during its one year in office, President Jonathan should have been able to make a considerable improvement in the electricity sector. In the actual fact, this is the second year of Jonathan’s administration. His supporters had prayed that in his first one year (after the demise of Yar’adua), he would fix the power crisis and use it to campaign for election in 2011. This did not happen. One year after he ‘won’ his own mandate, not much has been realised. Government’s excuse has been the lack of gas.
