Ms Patricia Bala named acting DG of NFVCB

Ms. Bala’s appointment by the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, was effective 7th August, 2012 as stated in a letter signed by the minister.

A release signed by Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, Head, Corporate Affairs (NFVCB) said Bala, was the most senior Director and in charge of Verification and Classification before the elevation.

“The Board would immediately embark on consumer education to ensure that the general public know their right and adopt better ways of engaging the business of production, buying, selling and renting and exhibiting of films in the country. Our quick wins initiatives will include confidence building and stakeholder friendly initiatives,” she was quoted as saying.

Bala was born in Garkawa, Mikang LGA of Plateau State. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Convent School, St Louis College all in Jos, School of Basic Studies (ABU) and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, graduating with BA Hons degree in Drama in 1975.
