The event, which took place at the university auditorium, was graced by dignitaries of the university’s Muslim community and sister’s institution within Kwara State.
The guest lecturer, Ustadth Sulaiman Hamzah, in his lecture titled “Reliving the Apotheosis” urged Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of the noble Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and that of his companions.
He said that no action will be accepted by Allah (SWT) except that which was in conformity with the Sharia’ah as expounded by His Messenger (SAW).
He cited a Hadith reported by the Prophet’s wife, Aishat (R.A) that “The Messenger of Allah said “whoever does any action/work which does not conform with the Prophet (SAW)’s command/order, such actions will be rejected.”  The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abulganiyu Ambali, represented by the DVC Management Services, Prof. Y. M. Fakunle, urged Muslims to always be united.
Earlier, the Ameer (president) of the society, Ustaz Abdulkabir Fasasi, a 400Level Religion Studies student, thanked Almighty Allah for making this year’s edition of the Jihad Week a huge success.
