As people make last minute shopping for the yuletide, MTN Foundation has urged Nigerians to take charge of their health.

In a statement released by the foundation in Lagos, it said it has provided healthcare services to both buyers and sellers in four markets in Lagos state.

The markets include Tejuosho Market, Phase 2, Yaba; Ayangburen Market, Sabo, Ikorodu; Mile 12 Market, Ketu and Folashade Tinubu-Ojo (FTO) Ebute-Ero Market, Gorodom.

The statement said the healthcare services which was being offered through its MTN Market Doctor initiative, helps to get people take more care of their health without making them feel at a loss in their businesses as doctors, pharmacists and nurses were on standby to attend to them at the markets.

It added that the health initiative was aimed at improving access to healthcare in Nigeria, especially the underserved population.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chinelo Adams, while commending MTN Nigeria said “I know how much I will spend if I go to the hospital but MTN has come to the market to give us free health check-up and free drugs. We don’t always have time because we are trying to make money to feed and carry the family, so I say Thank you to MTN Nigeria for this.”
