The telco made the announcement at a prize presentation to the second and third week winners of its ongoing MTN Best 11 promo.
The two young Nigerians, Kareem Waheed from Oshogbo in Osun State and Mr. Anunobi Valentine from Owerri in Imo state won house in the promo which offers the subscribers on the MTN network the opportunity to become a landlord in any part of the country for 11 weeks.
Expressed his heart felt while receiving the price, Mr Kareem waheed said when he first saw a call from 180 he taught it was a fraud.
He said, “When I first saw a call from 180 I didn’t pick it, I taught it was a fraud or MTN wants to deduct my money so I didn’t pick it, but later I saw a call from regular number and I picked it in which the person asked me to pick my call from 180 that I have won a house worth of N15 million from MTN Best 11 promo. I explained to my boss and he said it was a fraud, but what makes me summon courage is the fact that they did not demand for any money or to send card before I can claim my price. After collected my detail they said I should come to Lagos to claim my prize. Currently am still living with my parents in Osogbo but since MTN said it can be any part of the country, I would like my own to be in Lagos because I wish to change environment.”
On his part, Mr. Mr. Anunobi Valentine recalled how it all started on the 18th of May, 2015 when MTN called him that he has won.
“It all started exactly 3:46pm on the 18th of May, 2015 that I received calls from 180 and they asked for my detail to be sure if am the owner of the number and told me I have won MTN Best 11 promo that I can go and verify at their office in Owerri and come to Lagos so as to claim my price. They told me they have booked my flight from Imo to Lagos but if I miss the flight and I have to take off from Port Harcourt to Lagos this morning.”
Presenting the prize, General Manager, Business Development, Sales and Distribution of MTN, Mr. Richard Iweanoge said True talk allows subscribers to register their best 11 numbers from any network and make calls to them at 11k/sec.
He said under the initiative, every call to any of these 11 numbers attracts a cumulative of free three minuets which allows one entry into the draw with a chance to win a house or every hour you can also win 11,000 for the next 11 weeks.
