Abuja was on Tuesday the location for the kickoff of the 2016 edition of the MTV Base VJ Search at the NAF Conference Centre where several aspiring VJ hopefuls between the ages of 18 and 25 gathered for the first leg of the auditions.
The contestants had to convince the judges – media consultant, Eddie Madaki, comedian and Wazobia FM OAP, Big Mo, Award winning music producer, Gospel on De Beat, YBNL Abuja rep, Vidi Inyang, Founder, Abuja Entertainment Seminar, Chinedu Oji and Hot FM OAP, Amaka Onyeagoro, that they were right for the job.
MTV Base VJ, Ehizojie Okoeguale, winner of the second edition of the VJ Search competition, now TV star, was also at the auditions to meet with the contestants, talk them through the various stages of the auditions, and give tips on being a VJ.
The winner of the competition will go home with a two-year contract with MTV Base worth 20 million naira as well as becoming one of the key faces of the music network, hosting programmes on the TV channel. The winner will also interview stars, anchor events and walk the red carpet at entertainment events asides travels whist representing the brand.
