Your Excellency sir, on behalf of the concerned students and parents of Plateau State, I wish to bring to your attention a matter of utmost importance regarding the accessibility of tertiary education in our state.

Recent developments have seen a significant increase in the fees and associated costs of tertiary education within Plateau State. This sudden hike in expenses has placed an enormous burden on students and their families, jeopardising the dreams and aspirations of many who aspire to pursue higher education.

We kindly appeal to your administration to institute a comprehensive scholarship programme that will benefit deserving students across Plateau State. Explore options to reduce the current tuition fees at our tertiary institutions, making education more affordable for students and their families.

Establish financial assistance programmes to support students in covering other related expenses, such as textbooks, accommodation, and transportation, to ease their financial burdens considering this recent inflation in our country.

Ensure transparency in the allocation and distribution of scholarships and financial aid, with clear criteria and an equitable selection process.
