Disclosing this during media parley held in Lagos over the weekend was the organisation’s Head of Communication, Segun Fayose who stated that the organization is well aware of the challenges due to the preparation for the basketball event going on at the stadium.
He remarked that despite the huge resources committed to this event they still expressed confidence that by the time the next year edition would be organized just as every necessary steps would be adequately taken to make it more glamorous than what is experienced this year.
“I want to assure the basketball fans across the federation that though little could be said of the opening ceremony of the basketball league because we did not have intention before as all our focus is on 2010-2012 edition, the love for development and passion my organization has for the game prompted the idea for this year”, he said.
He maintained that “as from next year everybody is going to see the exhibition of the game at full length as all necessary steps will be taken and by then all hands will be on deck as Multichoice is set to make the game recover its lost glory thus bringing back the passion and enthusiasm associated with the game of basketball”.
He however urged basketball fans across the country to look ahead for a full season games next year since year 2009 edition is almost ended but, could not afford to waste the year that prompted the sponsorship while the remaining three years contact would bring out the best in the Multichoice Nigeria Limited and Nigerian players as well during.
