A former General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Musa Amadu, has resigned his appointment as chairman of the federation’s Disciplinary Committee.

In his letter of resignation dated July 6, Amadu did not give any reason for his sudden resignation from the position he occupied since 2016.

He, however, thanked the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick for giving him the opportunity to serve as the chairman of the important committee.

Amadu also commended the Disciplinary Committee for discharging its responsibilities under his leadership without blemish.

He said “I write through this medium, to honourably resign my position as the chairman of the NFF Disciplinary Committee with immediate effect.

“Let me express my profound gratitude to you and the Executive Committee for finding me worthy of holding this post since 2016.

“The committee under my leadership has handled a multiple of cases with unblemished record, integrity, and transparency with plaudits from all football stakeholders desirous of moving our local league forward and Nigeria Football in general.”

The letter of resignation was received in the office of the NFF president on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the sudden resignation of Amadu may not be unconnected with the looming crisis in the NFF over the 2022 elections.

He was the General Secretary of the NFF from 2010 to 2015 when Alhaji Aminu Maigari was the president.
