The Chairman of Kubwa Muslim Community, Engr. Abdullahi Suleiman, has condemned the gruesome killing of an assistant pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), saying Islam does not condone such inhumane act.
Engr. Suleiman described the death as unfortunate adding that Islam condemns any killing.
“Unfortunately, it has happened but it is a condemnable act. We did not create lives so we don’t have any reason to take them,” he said.
While sympathizing with the family, he said everybody should stand against such act as it could have happened to anyone.
He however cautioned residents not to see the killings as an act of religious violence.
“We hope and pray that the police will do as much to get the culprits,” he said.
He said that residents regardless of religious beliefs have always been living in peace in the community before the killing.
Meanwhile, the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo and the chairman of the Bwari Area Council, have paid a condolence visit to the family of the murdered evangelist.
Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and the council boss who visited separately, were received by the husband of the deceased, Mr. Olawale Elisha at their residence in Gbazango, Kubwa.
In her condolence message, Mrs Osinbajo wrote: “May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
The 42-year-old mother of seven, Mrs Eunice Elisha, was  murdered while preaching around Gbazango-West area of Kubwa early Saturday morning.
