The FCT Amira of Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women), Hajiya Khadeejah Muhammad Awwal Raji, says the upbringing of the children is an enormous primary responsibility, which Almighty Allah has placed on the women.

She spoke at this year’s Al-Mu’minaat week themed, “Home Pillar: Society Reformer”.

She called on the believing women to leave an everlasting and indelible footprint on the sands of time by building a virile and reformed home, which remained the hallmark of the tenets of child-upbringing in Islam.

While speaking on “The Role of Muslimah in Societal Reformation”, she noted that child upbringing remained the fulcrum of motherhood.

“Women have a big role to play in the reforming of the society. The alarming manner in which youths today engage in social vices in the contemporary times suggests that women have not been playing their roles diligently,” she observed.

Pharmacist Hafsat Adesina and Hajiya Jaleelah Abdulhameed Abdulsalam underscored the need for due diligence in child rearing and stressed that children should be nurtured within the ambit of tenets of Islam.

In her contribution, Hajiya Jaleelah stressed that societal reformation could help tackle the plethora of challenges bedevilling the country today.
