My advice to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State

The recent call by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, elected on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party is a clear ploy to end the political career of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

It is imperative for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to bear in mind this deceitful ploy to end his political career by his arch-rival of even his boss Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The greatest mistake to be made by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is to believe the statement made by Ganduje to leave his present political party and join the ruling party. The call smacked of a plot to return the state to the All Progressives Congress.

Therefore, it behoves Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and his mentor Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso not to be intimidated by the statement of Ganduje. He is being lured into his untimely political death by the people he defeated at the polls and didn’t believe that they had lost the election until the Supreme Court gave judgement in favour of the governor and his party.

The call by the former governor is not done in good faith for the simple fact, that there is nothing he has not done to unseat the incumbent governor and even has to ask his political godson to go to court.

The intervention of President Bola Tinubu is in order but the possibility of a genuine truce cannot be in place due to the hardline stand of the supporters of both Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The greatest mistake to be made by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and his mentor Musa Kwankwaso, is to leave the New Nigerian People’s Party and join the All Progressives Congress. They will be subsumed by the main actors calling the shot in the ruling party.
