A renowned musician, Kenny St. Brown has said her book ‘Stop! Turn Around it’ is targeted at helping people overcome their challenges and still attain their goals in life.
She said this while speaking at the launch of the book in Abuja.
St. Brown who said she had faced many challenges in life, stressed that her ability to overcome one setback gave her the courage to face other challenges of life.
“I decided to put my experience on paper to tell people that their setbacks can not keep them down.
“I wrote this book so that generations can learn from me when I’m not here again. One book can tell your stories to anyone anywhere and the world can learn from my experience on how I overcame my setbacks.”
Speaking at the occasion, Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari who commended the efforts of the writer, noted that the book will go a long way in helping young Nigerians fulfill their dreams.
“This book is going to impact on so many lives, Mrs Buhari who was represented at the event by Bintu Muazu said. “The book said it all, the author is a dreamer and her dreams came true today.”
On her part, the Commissioner of Women Affairs and poverty alleviation in Lagos State who chaired the event, Lola Akande said the book will take women from setbacks to greater heights and fulfillment of their dreams.
“I implore women to be focused in their determination to succeed in life and see challenges as a ladder that will catapult them to the mountain top,” she said in a message delivered by Director of Domestic Violence in the Ministry, Toyin Jaiyeola.
