I was in the house with my daughter, Precious Yusufu Philibus, who passed out from orientation camp a few days ago. Suddenly, she just said, with her usual calm voice, “Daddy, I just received my first N77,000.00 monthly allowance from NYSC now.
“I made a vow in my heart that I will give my first allowance as a corps member to you.
“It’s my little way of appreciating you for all you have been through for me to reach where God has brought me to in life today. Please, give me your account number sir.”
I obliged, not because I needed the money at the moment, but to please her in fulfilling her heart’s desire. Shortly afterwards, boom I saw the money credited to my account.
Then, she went to her room and sent me this message on WhatsApp:
“This is not enough to appreciate all that you’ve done for me. Thank you for everything you’ve been doing, the lord will bless you and keep you.
“I promise to make God, you, mom and my siblings proud. I love you, Daddy.”
Honestly, I didn’t expect it, but she surprised me.
Please, join me in thanking God for putting the act of gratitude in my little baby’s heart, and also join me in praying for her.
