A 10-year old girl has reported to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command that her 47-year -old father, Jester Gamoju, has been defiling her.

The girl said she had lost count of the number of times her father had slept with her.

The police said that the minor alleged that her father was always assaulting her whenever the mother was not around.“He told me not to tell anyone about it. He said if I did, I would die.

I had to tell my mother when she noticed bloodstains in my panties. Initially, I was afraid I would die, but my mother assured me that nothing would happen to me”, the police quoted the girl as saying.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident, said that the girl reported the matter at the manikin Police Station on June 29, 2020, that her father had been having sexual intercourse with her since 2019.

Elkana said that based on the complaint, policemen at the station took the girl to Mirabel Hospital for a medical test.

He said that the policemen were shocked when the result proved that the little girl had, indeed, been defiled many times.”

The suspect was arrested by operatives from the Gender Unit, while the girl was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination. The suspect will be charged to court at the end of investigation”, he said.
