A mother of two and a food vendor, Adeola Ahmed on Monday sought from an Ile-Tuntun Customary Court in Ibadan, the dissolution of an 11 year-old marriage between her and her husband, Kazeem Ahmed for snatching her handbag and and beating her after their separation.

Narrating her ordeal, Adeola alleged that her husband conspired with a motorcyclist to snatched her handbag and often threaten her life.

“Kazeem has remained a perennial threat to my life due to endless battery and unsubstantiated allegations against me. I decided to move away from Kazeem’s home eight months ago when I saw that my life was in danger. After I took my N25,000 weekly contribution which I hid in my handbag, Kazeem attacked me on a motorcycle, pushed me off and snatched the handbag from me.

“That was the reason why I got him arrested. He is always trying to find out whoever I am communicating with on my mobile phone and even scrutinizes the calls that I receive. Five and a half years after our marriage, Kazeem started suspecting my movement and turning me into a punching bag at will. He used to accuse me of infidility and I am tired of continuing with Kazeem as a wife,” Adeola stated.

The respondent who consented to the suit however, refuted all the allegations leveled against him.

Kazeem submitted that his wife was an harlot who depended on tricks to achieve her intention.

“My lord, Adeola’s male customers have been sleeping with her and I have caught her times without number. They call her to meet them very late in the night or very early in the morning.On a certain morning at around 4.30 am, one of her male friend called her and when I asked about who the person was, Adeola lied that her pastor was the caller. However, when I called the line, the person denied knowing her.”

Chief Henry agbaje, the court’s President, however, asked the duo to furnish the court with more evidence to substantiate their arguments.

Agbaje adjourned the case till October 17, 2018 for further hearing.
