A middle-age woman and mother of five, Ajoke Badmus, on Wednesday has asked a customary court in Ibadan to end her marriage, insisting her husband, Badmus Moshood, wants her dead.

Moshood has failed to appear in two previous court sessions, prompting the court to grant the divorce.

But the children of the marriage will decide where they will live when they are old enough, ruled the court president Ademola Odunade.

Ajoke Badmus, a pharmacist had earlier told the court that since she married her husband, he had never been responsible for up keeping of the family.

"He married me a virgin about 25 years ago. He doesn’t care for me and my children,” she had told the court.

“I have five children for him now. He used to fight with my customers in my shop. Many times, he has alleged that I was having affairs with some of my customers. He is always after my life. I am the only one caring for my children, even though two of them are now in higher institutions. He still lives in their family house. I don’t love him again. I want you to separate us, my lord."
