A customary court at Mapo, Ibadan, was yesterday thrown into laughter when a middle-aged man, Abdulahi Azeez, threw decency to the winds and described his wife, Mujidat, as a woman who cannot resist request for sex from any man because of what he called her adulterous lifestyle.

Divorce-seeking Azeez, who resides at the Moniya area of Ibadan, told the court that by the nature of his job, he travels a lot. “But the moment I pick up my travel bag, my wife would go into town and sleep with any man that comes her way.

“My wife has hot pants and is a very unrepentant adulterer. You cannot satisfy her. We have been married for past 19 years but those years have been gruelling for me. I can no longer bear it lest I die of hypertension. I can no longer continue with this marriage because if I stay on, this woman will kill me with her demand for sex,” he said.

But Mujidat declared before the court it was her husband’s duty to take care of all her wants, including her sex urge.

The respondent, a trader in petty wares, while saying Azeez was not always around to perform his matrimonial roles, denied ever cheating on him.

Appealing to the court not to grant her husband’s prayer, Mujidat said, “I am not ready to quit the marriage because I still love him.”
