‘My wife is having affairs with my close friend’

A middle-aged man, Trimisiyu Olayiwola, has told a customary court sitting in the Mapo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, that his wife, Fatimah Olayiwola, was having affairs with one of his close friends.

However, Olayiwola opposed the divorce suit instituted by his wife, saying he did not want his children to suffer in life just as he did many years ago.

The president of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, held that it was obvious that love was conspicuously absent between Fatimah and Olayiwola in the marriage that has lasted for 18 years, hence dissolution was the only option.

Narrating her ordeal earlier, Fatimah alleged that Olayiwola  “has made me to see the other side of life through his cruelty to me. He does not fend for the needs of the children nor does he pay us any attention. The neglect is so much that I don’t even know where he resides.

“My lord, I will like this court to help me regain the control of my house from Olayiwola because it belongs to me. I am tired of living a frustrated life, please, separate us.”
